As a Category Manager you will report to a Category Sourcing Management Team Leader in the Sourcing & Supply Chain department based in Obernai or Saverne for a permanent contract.
You will develop, support, and implement strategic sourcing initiatives in cooperation with Category Managers for outsourced products and sub-assemblies in Europe and Asia and spend across all production plants of the Hager Group.
What you will do?
- Based on a deep understanding of the company vision and deriving global sourcing mission, apply category strategies to leverage, develop and manage a global supply base that will deliver the appropriate value contribution for products and solutions to our Customers. Respond to unforeseen supply failures, working with manufacturing and suppliers to avoid supply chain interruptions.
- Develop market intelligence for defined categories (market trends & innovations), manage Supplier panels and perform supplier evaluations by applying best practice methodologies.
- Execute and apply the global risk management system on respective categories to support anticipating global supply market risks related to respective categories and strategic suppliers. Conduct periodic business reviews with strategic suppliers during which business risks will be determined and evaluated, and initiatives for risk mitigation will be deployed.
- Establish strong working relationships with strategic suppliers of respective categories and other external business partners to optimize value creation through the global supply base. Act as the primary interface with strategic suppliers and other external business partners with the goal to build strong business relationships. Collaborate with internal key stakeholder (e.g., Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, R&D, Application Centers) to develop strategies that lead to business opportunities and competitive advantages, leveraged by the global supply base of the Hager Group.
- Draft, negotiate and apply supply contracts with suppliers.
What about you?
- You have a Master degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management or Mechanical Engineering or Electronics and more than 3 years’ experience in sourcing for a global acting company or an adequate function closely acting with vendors and/or suppliers, preferably within the electronic and/or electric industry.
- You have strong proven track record in development and implementation of global procurement strategies, supplier evaluation and market intelligence.
- You have a good understanding of production processes and technologies of assigned categories, as ability to understand value streams, cost drivers and how to break down cost structures.
- You have ability to understand and develop legal contracts with suppliers, in depth experience of outsourcing activities.
- You are familiar to work within an international and multi-cultural environment and ability to travel globally to suppliers and to Hager plants (approximately 20% of working time). You are Team and result oriented and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- You are proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office.
- You speak fluently English, French and/or German would be considered as an asset.
