As a Category/Product Marketing Manager - Commercial you will report to National Marketing Manager based in Sydney for a permanent contract.

 

As the Category Marketing Manager - Commercial, you will report to the National Marketing Manager and play a key role within our proactive marketing team. You will manage a major product category focused on protection devices and low-voltage enclosures, delivering differentiated and customised solutions for the commercial market.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the subject matter expert for your product category, overseeing life cycle management, demand planning, technical support, and quality management for your category.
  • Identifying growth opportunities, gaining deep insights into customer needs and market gaps to develop a true value proposition.
  • Conducting fieldwork to gather and analyse data, profile customers, identify trends, and understand competitive offerings.
  • Engaging with Commercial Electrical Contractors to drive growth opportunities.
  • Collaborating with sales teams, manufacturing and assembly divisions in Australia, and senior leaders both locally and internationally to drive business outcomes.
  • A significant aspect of your role will be developing the product offering for the market. This includes working closely with engineers, overseas product managers, and manufacturing sites on product development, compliance, pricing, and go-to-market strategies. You will also attend industry events, develop training tools and marketing materials, and ensure products meet Australian regulatory standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving strategic marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Competitor analysis, reporting, and trend identification.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, business, or engineering (preferred).
  • Proven experience in product management, sales, or business development.
  • A background in commercial building projects, with a strong understanding of technical products and commercial project solutions.
  • Previous experience in the building, electrical, engineering, or industrial sectors with exposure to sales, marketing, and product management.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial construction or project-based industries.
  • Knowledge of the low-voltage electrical industry, or the ability to quickly acquire technical product and industry knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Australian and international standards, industry competitors, and value chains.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
  • A proactive, energetic, and customer-focused attitude, with strong multi-tasking and project management capabilities.
