As a Working Student (m/f/d) in Linguistics & Language Technology you will report to Product Information Team Leader based in Blieskastel  for a fixed-term contract (20 hours per week).

 

As Working Student (m/f/d) in Product Information, Global Texts and Translation Management, you provide services to empower international markets with accurate and relevant data and enriched content in local languages, efficiently supported by using innovative translation technology. You will become part of a team that plays a vital role in enhancing a seamless human and digital customer journey for both new and existing products. Your main responsibilities will be to manage multilingual translation projects and ensure smooth project delivery to the various types of requester.

 

Your mission

  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Creating detailed project plans, setting timelines, and tracking progress to ensure timely delivery. This could involve estimating costs, allocating resources, and prioritizing tasks
  • Coordinating with Translators and Language Service Providers: Managing relationships with translators, agencies, and vendors, ensuring that all linguistic requirements are met and timelines are respected
  • Quality Assurance: Reviewing translations for accuracy, consistency, and quality, ensuring that final deliverables align with client specifications and standards
  • Client Communication: Acting as the point of contact between clients or internal teams and translation service providers, understanding and managing client needs, and addressing any queries or issues that may arise
  • Maintaining Translation Memories and Glossaries: Overseeing the creation and maintenance of translation memories, glossaries, and style guides to ensure consistency and quality in translations over time
  • Ensuring Localization Compliance: Ensuring that translations meet the specific cultural and regional requirements of target markets, and comply with any relevant legal or industry regulations
  • Reporting and Documentation: Generating status reports, progress updates, and post-project analysis to evaluate the success of translation projects and identify areas for improvement

 

Your profile

  • Degree in Linguistics, Computer Linguistics, Language Technology, or a related field
  • Interest in Natural Language Processing and Language Technology
  • Basic knowledge in the areas of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Language Processing is a plus
  • Dealing with innovative language and translation management technology; In-depth knowledge of linguistic principles and CAT tools
  • Thrives in a multicultural team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
