As a R&D Mechanical Engineer - Low Voltage Switchgear you will report to the Engineering Manager based in Porcia for a permanent contract.


The R&D Mechanical Engineer – Low Voltage Switchgear is responsible for the mechanical design and development of low voltage switchgear assemblies, translating requirements into robust technical solutions while ensuring quality, safety, and manufacturability.


Your mission

  • Be accountable for mechanical designs within the scope of low voltage switchgear assemblies
  • Contribute to the development of new products, components, and systems, as well as the improvement of existing solutions
  • Translate technical requirements into feasible mechanical designs following defined design guidelines and methodologies
  • Take ownership of your design results and review designs from peers
  • Support and run smaller (sub) projects within the R&D environment
  • Analyze quality and safety test results to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
  • Monitor development outcomes regarding technical performance, cost, and timing targets
  • Support the creation of assembly guidelines and technical documentation
  • Work independently with general supervision, contributing your expertise to complex technical challenges
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and processes


Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design or a comparable qualification
  • Strong expertise in 3D design tools, preferably CREO
  • Experience working with PLM systems, ideally Windchill
  • Solid understanding of system architecture and structural design principles
  • Knowledge of data management, data structuring, and documentation management
  • Structured and analytical working style with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
  • Good communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly
