As a Group Product Manager WA & Intelligent Buildings (m/f/d) you will report to a Product Range Manager based in Frankfurt for a permanent contract.
In the role, you are responsible for managing our Wiring Accessories & Intelligent Buildings (WAI) connected product portfolio throughout its lifecycle – from market need identification to successful market launch and ongoing lifecycle management. You act as an ‘entrepreneur within the company’ and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that your portfolio meets customer needs, is competitive, develops successfully and delivers sustainable value in the market. The connected product portfolio within Wiring Accessories & Intelligent Buildings (WAI) of the Hager Group includes products and solutions such as connected sensors, motion detectors, thermostats, USB-charging devices and further electronic devices.
Your mission
- Manage your product portfolio from market need identification through development (CTO), market launch, lifecycle management, and end-of-life
- Proactively anticipate market needs and develop your strategic product roadmap and development plan (DP)
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to ensure a competitive and sustainable product offering in close collaboration with Sales & Marketing in core markets
- Define customer-centric value propositions and differentiated product positioning (USP) and validate concepts with customers and markets
- Translate product concepts into clear technical and marketing specifications and collaborate closely with engineering for product development (adaptations and new developments), defining product requirements and approving specifications
- Monitor product performance and manage lifecycle activities including maintenance, upgrades, improvements, and troubleshooting
- Represent your portfolio as well as the product management team in cross-functional and cross-market business development and milestone meetings
- Ensure successful product launches by providing markets with the necessary documentation, tools, training concepts, and second-level product support
Your profile
- Degree in engineering, business administration, industrial engineering, or a comparable field
- Several years of experience in product management in Intelligent Buildings and Smart Home, ideally in a technical or B2B environment
- Strong understanding of current market environment and competitors, market analysis, product lifecycle management, and value proposition development
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage stakeholders within a matrix organization
- Strong analytical thinking combined with a customer- and business-oriented mindset
- Fluent in English; additional languages (German) are an advantage
