Purchasing Category Manager - Consulting
The Hager is looking to strengthen its Indirect Sourcing with a Category Manager for Professional Services.
Your main responsibility is to structure and drive category purchasing topics at corporate level for all Hager entities, worldwide with a focus on France and Germany.
You will act as interface between Hager’s stakeholders and consultancy providers in the scope of business services, digital and technical solutions development and manage associated category panel of vendors & associated purchasing activities.
Your typical purchasing activities are related to:
- Business consultancy (Marketing, Innovation, Manufacturing, HR and other)
- Digital applications, cloud platform and software developments (IoT, Embedded, Architecture etc.)
- Strategic consulting
- Engineering and solution developments
- Project management (Amoa, SCRUM, Kanban, Waterfall or other)
- Others technical projects such as in R&D, Laboratory, etc.
The position will be based either in Obernai (France) or in Blieskastel (Germany) for a pernament contract.
Your Responsibilities
- Being accountable to design, structure and animate category panel of vendors / service providers and other business partners in order to reach Hager Groups objectives regarding quality, costs, lead time, compliance and sustainable criteria to ensure the application of concerned purchasing strategy. To do so she/he leads the commercial negotiations.
- Organize and drive market benchmark, competition (Call-for-Tenders) and selection process with multi-domain stakeholders.
- Promote collaboration between Hager’s businesses (Engineering, R&D, Solution Development…) to find synergies and negotiate aggregated volumes to achieve commercial benefits.
- Report achievements in purchasing roadmaps for assigned spend categories and oversee the execution of initiatives.
- Accomplish a high-level performance within a culture of collaboration, whilst focusing on process standardization, implementation of best practices and compliance.
- Drive the deployment of environmental, social and corporate governance (SCG) requirements within purchasing activities and ensures that vendors and any other business partners are matching Hager objectives set in the Code of Sustainable Purchasing.
Your profile
- Academic degree or relevant Industrial / business management / information technology / engineering education
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience of purchasing
- Operational and technical savvy – potentially related to Consultancy, Project Management, Agile Methodology in Digital environments - and having the ability to effectively support projects simultaneously whilst meeting agreed deadlines and goals.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and collaborate across departments, businesses, geographies and disciplines.
- Strong presence and interpersonal skills, with the drive to build effective partnerships with key internal stakeholders, vendors / service providers and other business partners.
- Proven negotiation skills with understanding of contractual negotiation, development, and local regulations.
- Fluent proficiency in English, skills in German and/or French language are a plus.
- Knowledge of SAP and SAP ARIBA is a plus.
